Saying in original language: man kann nicht auf mehreren Hochzeiten gleichzeitig tanzen
English translation of the saying: you cannot dance on several wheddings at the same time
Language: German
Meaning in English: This saying expresses that one cannot obtain all the benefits from opportunities that are concurrent. One has to choose one opportunity at a time and stick to it, rather than try to get the best of all worlds. Some people sometimes try to keep as many opportunities open as possible, fearing to maybe make a second-best choice only. This saying advocates also somehow that one shouldn't be afraid to make wrong decisions, I think.
